On this day in 1706, Thomas Bowrey drafted his will – not his last will and testament because he wrote another one closer to his death. This document is interesting, however, because it gives us a great deal more information than the final one.
In this one document, there is more information about his life than any other single manuscript within his papers. It is an invaluable resource for his biographer. In addition, by comparison with his final will, it may be possible to work out how his life changed over a five year period.
I am looking forward to spending some time in this analysis.
