Happy New Year to all my readers.
It has been a while since I posted anything here but it is reassuring to see that, despite my absence, people have continued to visit my blog. I really hope that you are finding something of interest – whether it is the contents of a document from Captain Thomas Bowrey’s papers, encouragement for a new author of biography or just some of my more general ramblings.
If I am honest, I have thought little about Thomas Bowrey during my absence for Christmas and the New Year. It has been many years since I have been able to say that and I guess that I needed a break. I do not make New Year resolutions but now that we are back home, I need to return to writing up my latest research findings and completing the catalogue of Bowrey’s papers. And, f course, find a publisher for my book!
However, most of all, I am looking forward to an exciting year of giving talks based primarily on my research into Bowrey’s life. I have a number of bookings starting in June but am most excited about being asked to speak at the AGRA Conference in Oxford. Having attending AGRA’s previous conference in Cambridge, I am really looing forward to this event and am flattered to be asked to present. You can see the programme and purchase tickets here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/agra-conference-2019-tickets-53689375367.
Hope to see you there.
